Spring has bloomed, and summer is right around the corner, which means the weather is warmer, drinks are ice cold, and the city will be crawling with people trying to find some of the hottest rooftop bars.
Everyone has heard of Loopy Doopy with its infamous fruity popsicle inside a glass of prosecco or the 230 Fifth rooftop that gives you the perfect vantage point of the Empire State Building. However, we’re covering some little-known rooftop spots that offer some chill cocktails and amazing views.
Roof at Park South

With a wide selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, Roof at Park South is a great bar to unwind at after a long day at work. Situated in the cool NoMad district, you’re far enough from the office that you can enjoy the tasty Mediterranean food without constantly checking emails. From high-top tables to seats at the bar and a gigantic sofa wrapping around a group of tables, you should have no problem finding a place to sit. Order yourself a drink that makes you feel like you’re on vacation in Europe and relax after a long week.
‘Tis the Season for Frosé

Frozen margaritas used to be the go-to drink once summer came along. Now, there’s a new drink in town, and that’s Frosé (frozen rosé). One place to grab this icy goodness is The Heights rooftop bar at Arlo NoMad. With a glass-bottom rooftop (yes, they literally have a part of their roof where the floor is made of glass), you can overlook the streets of NYC while sipping frose.
Located on the top of the Arlo Hotel, you’ve got a fantastic view of the Empire State Building and the rest of midtown. Grab your friends, a slice of pizza, and a drink and enjoy the atmosphere of The Heights Arlo.
Rooftop Tacos

Craving tacos and gorgeous views? Salvation Taco (previously called Pod 39) has one of the best outdoor rooftops you can ask for (though it’s on the smaller side) and a range of delicious tacos. From their frozen margaritas and tequila flights to a smooth, cold Modelo, do yourself a favor and check it out.
Another option is Cantina Rooftop, which offers a rustic Mexican feel, homemade tortillas, and freshly prepared guacamole in the hip Hell’s Kitchen area. Don’t forget to wash that guacamole down with their “Spicy Summer” cocktail.
Havana Nights

With a little over 500 followers on Instagram and deep in the pages of Yelp, this little-known rooftop bar is a hidden gem. With One World Trade Center in the skyline behind you, Azul Rooftop Bar is located on top of SoHo’s Hotel Hugo and serves a range of summer cocktails from Frosé to a “Loco Nut” that combines coconut water and Captain Morgan. Azul also morphs into a rooftop cinema every Monday night, playing a variety of classic movies.

There’s a huge range of rooftop bars across New York City but the ones above will guarantee a fun and relaxing night. Some other rooftop bars that always attract a crowd (and hence long lines) are Refinery, Mr Purple, PHD Lounge, and Bar SixtyFive at the Rockefeller Center.
