Agent Feature: Alexa Garshofsky

by | Aug 11, 2017

This week, we sat down with Triplemint agent Alexa Garshofsky to discuss her love of NYC and the real estate industry.

Why did you become an agent?

I’ve lived in the city for approximately 10 years and have moved almost every year. It has been so insightful watching each neighborhood change and develop. I’ve always had an interest in real estate and I knew if I combined my neighborhood knowledge with my interpersonal skills, it would be a great career choice.

What has been your best moment as a real estate agent?

I’ve had one client hug me and tell me how truly grateful they were for all my help in finding them their dream apartment. Nothing is more rewarding than that.

What’s the most difficult part of being an agent?

You face a lot of rejection. The best way to deal with it is to stay motivated and not let your emotions get in the way. You have to keep on keepin’ on.

What’s your favorite thing about living and working in NYC?

My favorite thing about living and working here is that every day is an adventure. There’s always something to do, like a new restaurant to try, a new bar or hotel to check out, or a pop up shop or street fair to explore. Living here is very exciting!

Where did you go for your last holiday and what was it like?

I went to Havana, Cuba! It was incredible. Experiencing the history and beauty the country has to offer was truly an unforgettable experience. I am even more grateful that we had the opportunity to go when we did, as the country will probably change quite a bit in the coming years.

What’s a typical weekend look like for you?

If I’m not working or out with clients, I like to take my weekends to relax and keep things light like hanging in the park with our puppy Mason or just kicking it at home with my man.

What is your favorite NY neighborhood, and why?

Right now, I’d have to say the Lower East Side. It’s just very unique and alive down there, plus it’s nice to get off the grid sometimes.

What does the future hold for you?

I don’t really know but I’m excited to find out! Hopefully, a ton of success in my career, buying my own charming place in Brooklyn, and probably rescuing a few more puppies.
