As we say goodbye to winter, springtime brings new opportunities to the Hamptons. Now is a great chance to reconnect with our community’s culture and natural environment.

Triplemint has collected a few of our favorite upcoming events both in-person and virtual for you to enjoy this spring.

THAW Fest – Various

Just as the name suggests, THAW Fest is a celebration of the end of winter and the welcoming of springtime. Spanning across cultural institutions of eastern Long Island, the festival invites the community to explore the range of opportunities available nearby. From film screenings to ghost hunting, THAW Fest shows that there is something of interest to everyone right in their area.

Make this spring a time of renewal and growth for your cultural education by exploring the festival’s schedule. Many events are available virtually, with some in-person options.

Schumann’s Piano Quintet: At the Heart of Genius – Virtual

Truly great music is available in the Hamptons, and nothing can keep these musicians from sharing their talent and love for music. Celebrate the resilience of artists this spring by supporting their work.

Bridgehampton Chamber Music is rounding off March with a performance of Robert Schumann’s piano quintet. Along with the performance, the BCH artistic director and musicians will add artistic and historical context in a live discussion with the virtual audience.

SpringFest21 – Virtual

While live, in-person music performances are still on hold, local music organizations have not given up on their mission to bring the arts to their communities. Six organizations have joined together to present SpringFest21, a virtual broadcast over three days. It’s an opportunity for people to gather virtually and share their love of music.

The participating organizations are Musicivic Everywhere, Ambler Musicivic, Three Village Chamber Players, Twin Forks Musicivic, Oakmont Musicivic, and Big Sky Musicivic. Five broadcasts are scheduled to accommodate all schedules.

The White Room Gallery Spring Exhibitions – Bridgehampton

The White Room opened in 2015 to feature contemporary art across media, bringing emerging artists to the fore alongside established artists. The exhibitions of Spring 2021 are slated to be just as provocative and wowing as ever.

Spanning art that reflects lives lived on the edge to pop art and street art, the gallery curators have created exhibitions guaranteed to inspire and enrich. Virtual exhibition tours are available on the gallery website along with digital previews of upcoming exhibitions.

Illuminating the Value of Dark Skies – Virtual

Earth day is in April every year and is a reminder to reflect on our natural world and how we can conserve it. The Peconic Land Trust is a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 to work with Long Island communities and protect the area’s natural lands. This year, the trust is highlighting a form of pollution many of us do not even notice every day: light pollution.

Join this virtual conversation with Susan Harder, a “Dark Sky” advocate, on how artificial light at nighttime affects wildlife and human health.
