The Hudson County area is blooming with events this spring! Many events this year have gone virtual, giving you the flexibility to enjoy the warm weather and the high quality events hosted by members of our community.

Downtown Jersey City Farmers Market – Downtown Jersey City

The Historic Downtown Jersey City farmers market is now open year-round, so if you have been craving fresh, local produce, you have a friendly market nearby. Easily accessible, the Downtown Jersey City market has goods for everyone from natural beauty products to healthy meals for your pets.

The farmer market organizers have implemented health and safety guidelines to ensure a comfortable and safe way for the community to connect and enjoy the farmers market together.

Hoboken Talks – Virtual

The Hoboken Historical Museum has begun hosting virtual interviews with Hobokenites to uncover personal histories and contemporary changes to the city we all love. Hosted by the museum’s director Bob Foster, Hoboken Talks is a dive into Hoboken life with the perspective from one of the area’s prominent historians.

Live streams of the interviews are broadcast on the museum’s YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Past broadcasts are available on demand as well.

Shakespeare@ Home Radio Plays – Virtual

Shakespeare@ is a Jersey City-based classical theatre, dedicated to bringing classic plays to life for modern audiences. As a part of this initiative, they have started Shakespeare@ Home, a series of radio plays bringing Shakespeare to your earbuds.

Their latest production of Julius Caesar is out now, but stay tuned for future productions in 2021. Streaming is available online through Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, and Stitcher.

Earth Day 2021 Virtual

Every April, we recognize Earth Day as a time to reflect on our impact on the environment and how we can support protecting our climate and building a better future. This year, you have access to an incredible list of panelists and speakers virtually with the Earth Day Initiative. Previous speakers have included climate activists, celebrity scientists, actors and performers, and business leaders.

This year, the Earth Day Initiative has put together a fun new way to host a virtual festival: through a video game-like virtual experience! Take your avatar through their digital space and meet with environmental organizers and exhibitors to connect with others on this vital and important topic.

ACCESS JC Fridays – Virtual

JC Fridays is a seasonal arts festival in Jersey City and has now gone virtual! Presented by Art House Productions, the festival brings community artists to the fore with virtual presentations and showcases.

A celebration of Jersey City’s vibrant and diverse arts scene, JC Fridays is a great way to connect with your community and show support for local artists.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Everywhere – Virtual

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has adapted to present virtual performances to their community this spring. A series of performances is slated for the springtime, offering a vibrant start to the new season.

Events include performances set against stunning backdrops of Hoboken’s Pier C Park and the Van Vleck House and Gardens. Many events are free as well, providing an excellent opportunity to enjoy world-class performances from home.
