The Summary:

Upper East Siders enjoy an easy commute to East Side and Midtown offices.  Getting to the Financial District or areas on the lower part of the West Side of Manhattan prove a bit trickier and can involve a few train changes.  Overcrowding on the 6 train is a frequent complaint by many, which will hopefully be alleviated in 2015 with the opening of the new Second Avenue Subway.  If you are looking for a central neighborhood, the Upper East Side may not be your best bet, but transportation woes do not deter renters looking for afforable housing and other New Yorkers happy to be among the best schools and restaurants in the city.
